At Subvisual · full-stack & lead
The product I most recently led. Brazos is the global leader in FOQA / FDM, flight-data monitoring that keeps pilots and crew safe. I led product development as we rebuilt the platform from legacy systems into something helicopter and fixed-wing operators can actually depend on for safety-critical work.
A cross-platform desktop app for Protocol Labs that puts a computer's idle resources (storage, compute, bandwidth) to work over a peer-to-peer network. Built with Electron; a lot of careful systems engineering and product thinking to make something genuinely complex feel as simple as launching any other app.
A live dashboard for Saturn, a distributed content-delivery network, visualising nodes, traffic, and activity across a global peer-to-peer system. Turning a sprawling backend into something you can read at a glance.
The customer portal for Saturn's distributed CDN. Content providers signed up here, saw how much of their content the network was serving, and paid for that usage. The billing side of a piece of serious infrastructure.
Before that · health-tech & robotics
A cross-platform ecosystem supporting clinical decision-making in musculoskeletal and Parkinson's disease. As a main developer on the product team I owned backend and API work, designed and shipped features front to back, maintained the AWS cloud infrastructure, and kept the CI/CD pipelines healthy. Equal parts engineer and firefighter.
A multiplatform tool for orthodontic diagnosis and planning, paired with a micro-robot for automated distraction. My own venture, as Head of Technology, covering software and hardware both. Best Business Idea & Honourable Mention, Arrisca C 2016.
EU Horizon 2020 research on active, healthy ageing with service robotics in assisted-living homes. During the research fellowship I built the robot's speech layer in C++ on ROS: real-time speech recognition with voice activity detection and direction-of-arrival estimation, tuned for low latency on modest hardware. Released open-source, and the basis for peer-reviewed papers I authored and co-authored.

For the joy of it
I co-founded Coimbra's JavaScript meetup: a local space for developers to share talks and swap ideas. Monthly, in person, and still running. A city's tech scene is only as alive as the people showing up for it.
Sage is a farmhand backed by Claude who knows the garden: 6 real raised beds, rotation history, companion planting, pest problems, live irrigation data from Home Assistant. A Game Boy-style dashboard maps it all in pixel art. No simulated data. The soil-and-sensors habit isn't new: back in 2018 I was already planning an internet-connected greenhouse.
