A little about now
I was born in Guimarães in '93 and I've made Coimbra home. I studied biomedical engineering, then followed the part I loved most, building software, all the way into the web.
These days I'm a full-stack developer at Subvisual: happy to reach anywhere across the stack, from backend and devops to a fussy bit of front-end. Years of running projects and small teams means I tend to end up leading the technical side as much as building it, turning a rough idea into a product that ships.
Perpetually curious, allergic to shortcuts. A wine and food lover; wine again; a permaculturist coaxing vegetables out of a garden that's half soil, half sensors; and since early 2024, a very outnumbered father of twin girls.
Things I've made
The product I most recently led at Subvisual. Brazos is the global leader in FOQA / FDM, flight-data monitoring that keeps pilots and crew safe. I led product development as we rebuilt the platform from legacy systems into something operators can actually depend on to do safety-critical work.
A cross-platform desktop app for Protocol Labs that puts a computer's idle resources (storage, compute, bandwidth) to work. Built with Electron; a lot of careful systems engineering to make something genuinely complex feel like launching any other app.
The network Explorer and customer Portal for Saturn, a distributed content-delivery network: making a sprawling system readable, and giving content providers a clean way to track and pay for the bandwidth their content used.
Once in a while I take on a small bit of independent work: a website, a web app, or just a steady hand for a friend or a local business that deserves to be found online. Quietly, by word of mouth, and only when I can do it justice. If that sounds like you, say hello.
